1. Amazon Prime

This hopefully goes without saying, but you need Amazon Prime in your life.  It’s $99 per year, which means I basically paid for my subscription with the savings from just one order.  My vote: worth it!  If, for some reason, you don't have Prime yet, get the 30 day Free Trial below, get your subscriptions and coupons and deals below, then cancel :)  You'll only get the savings one time but heyyyyy a dollar is a dollar.Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial

2. Single subscription delivery day

This is the big money saver.  With a little up-front planning, I was able to subscribe to TEN different items and reap major benefits.  Not only does this mean that my essentials are delivered to my house without me having to order them, but I ALSO get a lower price and MAXIMIZE that lower price by having at least 5 of my subscription items delivered on the same day.  Y'all this ONE trick saves over me $300 a YEAR.  The secret here is to have a plan before you order.  Consider what things you need regularly, how much of it you go through in a month, and how often you need to receive it.  Amazon does make recommendations for you too.  For instance, they recommended that we get the dishwasher pacs every 4 months because that's the most common order.  I wasn't totally sure how many loads of dishes really do on an average month - is constantly a number?  Anyway, I just went with the recommendation, and I'll fill in the gaps from the store if needed.  Here’s a little spreadsheet I used to figure out the savings.  You can get your own below!PS there is a TON of stuff you can get on Subscribe and Save, but I'm not quite organized (or habitual) enough to get the same snacks or drinks at regular interval.  I AM looking into health and beauty products like medicines and toothpaste to add to my list.[convertkit form=5138204]

3. Amazon Credit Card

This is another one of those things that I just want to shout from the rooftops.  Y’all, the Amazon Prime Visa is the BEST.  I love a rewards credit card for flights, hotels, etc.  But the Amazon Visa saves me money on the stuff I do and buy all the time.  You can get 5% back on Amazon purchases (if you also have Prime), 2% back at restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores, and 1% back on everything else.  When you check out in your Amazon cart, you just click “apply points” and take the amount off of your total price. It's particularly fun if you save them up for several months and then get to order stuff for free.  One time I saved them all year and got a pretty sweet deal on all my Christmas gifts!

4. Gold Box Deals - Prime Early Access

This is slightly dangerous territory because these Lightning Deals and Prime Early Access Deals might not always be things that you need.  That said, I use this a lot for gifting.  You can find some [sometimes random but always] unique items with a  quick scroll through the deals!  And if you've had your eye on one of those Alexa devices, make sure you check here first.  They have great deals on Echo, Dot, and other smart home devices sometimes!

5. Clip coupons

This is much less dangerous - you should always check for coupons, especially if you're buying regular household items.  There are coupons ranging from $0.25-$5 off on things that you were probably buying anyway.  And, if I'm reading my feed correctly, they tend to select coupons for you based on things you already buy.  That or my collagen and beauty products are always on sale!  I'll take it either way.Bonus - there are lots of coupons you can stack on top of Subscription items to maximize savings!

6. Use Amazon Locker for shipping and returns

I posted about this on Instagram Stories the other day, but using Amazon Locker is like walking into the future - in both the creepy way and the awesome convenient way.  I used it to return some things FOR FREE and did some grocery shopping at Whole Foods while I was there.  Of course, one of the whole reasons I use Amazon is so they will deliver stuff to my house while I work, BUT sometimes there are things you don't want sitting on the porch all day like pricey gifts or  boxes.  I could see using the pick up at Amazon Locker for those types of things, but other than that, keep on delivering Team Amazon.Final thought: As convenient as Amazon is, I find that sometimes it's a little TOO easy to order things we don't need.  When everything is at your fingertips, it's so easy to just click "Add to Cart!"  Anyone else guilty of late-night Amazon-ing? *raises hand* - I get it. But with a little planning and some strategic purchasing, I hope this at least helps y'all save a buck or $300 on those late night shopping sprees!  And if you set yourself up with subscriptions and use my calculator, let me know how much you can save in the comment below!
