The Dougherty Family - Hermann Park Holiday Photos

Happy Holidays from the Dougherty family!I have met SO many new people through my business this year, but man does it make things extra fun when I get to photograph people I already know.  This sweet mom and I have been colleagues for years, and now that we both have these little ones in our lives, it was so fun to get together and swap stories, snap some memories, and try to get this little guy to crack a smile (check!).  It's been quite a year for the Dougherty fam adjusting to all kinds of new normals.  But these smiles are a testament to staying positive, staying strong, and our ability to handle anything with those you love by your side.I know mom and dad would agree though, the BEST smile is this little guy's tiny "I don't want to smile but you're kind of funny" smile.  I mean LOOK at that picture with mom!  If only you could see dad's peekaboo skills from behind the camera...We shot these photos in one of my favorite photo spots in Houston, along with approximately 7,000 other family photographers.  Luckily, our large but friendly community does an awesome job of staying out of each other's way and working together!  We snagged an awesome spot with some incredible light, and I'm loving the warm and sunny result!Last holiday season, this little guy was just a couple months old, so I know they can't wait for Christmas this year!  In my estimation, Christmas with a one year old looks like an abundance of snuggling, watching Christmas lights twinkle, and LOTS of wrapping paper excitement.  It's a time to slow down, spend extra minutes with the ones we love, and appreciate the small and beautiful things in life.  Thank goodness for babies and kiddos who teach us these lessons daily!
